I read that part closely, but I don't mind buying you lunch. I made a nice gesture.
Does besides me say you are the best writer in the county? The reason why I do is because I take the time to careful read your columns, analyze them sometimes.
But the part about the Taliaban, death penalty and such, as much as I try to focus on it, I can't because I see it as mischaracterizing my position or something unrelated to any point I'm making.

I don't see this as a progressive (i.e., liberal) or sinners issue. People can drink. I don't see that as a sin, although some might. I see getting drunk and driving a car as a crime, because it kills too many people. Kids, wives, innocent people. I think most everyone would agree with that, those on the left or the right.
Rather than characterize my quest the way you did, what I would like to see is a strengthening of DUI punishments in order to deter more people from drinking and driving, and I think that will save lives.
I just read that article cbr, and I think most in the legislature agree they need to toughen the laws. From the article, it seems like the focus will be to strengthen penalities on repeat offenders. That's Gerald's point. Great. I think we are taking first time and repeat offenders too lightly. Stricter penalities make sense to me because I think society takes the crime too lightly
