I do not know much about the candidates for mayor in the town of Liberty but I do know the city is not moving forward. The current mayor Sheriff and the city council man Padgett who are candidates need not go in because they've done nothing. I do not know Eric Boughman, so maybe he would be a better choice.

I was given a copy of the city of Liberty newsletter that is mailed to all residents and this is a waste of taxpayer money, it includes recipes (Chicken & Rice Casserole) and yard tips (Pick up pet waste, Don't over water your lawn) and big brother orders Property Maintenance - All property within the city limits shall be maintained by its owner so as to keep such property clean and free of rubblish, debris or any unhealthy stuff and all 6 pages are printed on high gloss color paper and they want to raise taxes, and it is time for a new mayor and council folks.

Interesting reading. One take-away is the forces of Capitalism are revealed, no mater the size of the economy. Government, at any level, attempting to ignore or subvert Capitalism rather than enforce it creates misery.

When you look at the city of Liberty, there tax rate has been 80 mills or close for a while. At some point they need to bite the bullet, downsize the government and slash that tax rate to spur investment in the town again. Pickens' is 65 mills. It was only 47.6 mills in 2010, so they've been raising tax rates quite aggressively.
